Everything you need to know about the Ride of the Ruperts
Ride of the Ruperts is an event organised to help support the Movember Foundation and raise vital funds to support men’s mental health and prostate cancer awareness. Similar to the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, the ROTR was set up by a group of friends who loved the DGR so much they wanted to do it more than once a year. It started off in Sussex but as the momentum has grown over the year, the Ride of the Ruperts also hold a ride out in London too.
Now there are over 300 riders and pillions that take part in the event, they’ve even had to create a reserves list because it’s become a huge hit. Along with the two rides and other fundraising activities, the Ride of the Ruperts gang raised over £11,000 in 2019 alone!
The Sussex route is a 70 mile ride around the glorious countryside starting off in Rudgwick all the way through to The Custom Café in Bexhill for a post-ride knees up!
The London route starts at a top secret location that you’ll find out once you’re registered, another 70 mile ride that will take you out of London and to the surrounding towns of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
It doesn’t matter what you ride for this event, it’s the dressing up in your finest wear and heading to the streets to raise much needed money for an important cause.
Registration is now open for the 2020 ride but you’ll need to sign up quickly to guarantee your spot.
