The new bike is based on the firm’s flagship sporty roadster, the Speed Triple 1200, in 178bhp faired RR form. It’s a high-end machine even as stock of course, with Öhlins electronic suspension, Brembo Stylema brake calipers, full electronic riding aids package, single-sided rear swingarm and aluminium twin-spar frame.

But the Breitling edition – limited to just 270 bikes – adds even more luxury, in the form of a super-posh paint scheme with gold hand-painted details, a real leather seat with French stitching, a bespoke Akrapovic silencer, and a host of lightweight carbon fibre bodywork parts.

The Breitling tie-in also means a special customised startup screen on the full colour TFT LCD dash, a Breitling logo on the rear wheel finisher and a gold Breitling tank badge.

Of course, there’s also a new Breitling Triumph watch that comes with the bike: a Chronomat B01 42, with titanium and 18k red gold case, an anthracite dial and brown leather strap.

Originally designed for the Italian aerobatics team Frecce Tricolori in 1983, the Chronomat bucked the electronic quartz trend by bringing back a mechanical chronographs (stopwatch mechanism).

According to the firms, it’s this spirit of bold innovation that thrives in the new Chronomat B01 42 Triumph — a watch born from a shared philosophy with Triumph’s own pioneering role in the world of motorcycles.
