2025 Ducati Model Round-Up

Published: January 7, 2025

We thought we’d seen all there was to come for 2025 from Ducati at the Milan show last month – but the Bologna firm had a few surprises up its sleeves to release after the show.

Here’s the last of the new machinery from Borgo Panigale for 2025 – the new V2 Multistrada and the very special limited-edition Panigale V4 S Tricolore.

The new 2025 Ducati Multistrada V2 is the first bike to use the lower-power version of the firm’s latest V-twin engine, first seen last month on the Panigale and Streetfighter models.

Those bikes had a 120bhp tune from the 890cc eight-valve DOHC non-desmodromic 90° V-twin unit, while the Multistrada has a 115bhp peak power output. The idea behind the new engine is to make a lighter, less complex unit, rather than getting caught up in an ever-increasing capacity and peak power race, which risked taking bikes like the Multistrada V2 away from their original purpose.

So – the new V-twin Multistrada V2 is claimed to be the lightest in its upper-middleweight adventure tourer class, with a kerb mass (without fuel) of just 199kg: the S model is a few kg heavier thanks to the semi-active suspension.

It’s had a complete chassis redesign, with a new aluminium monocoque front frame and a cast aluminium dual-sided swingarm, which together with the new 54.9kg engine helps with the weight loss – it’s around 18kg lighter than the old bike, with similar power output.

There’s a 19-inch front wheel, to give a modicum of off-road ability (not that many of these bikes will see any serious dirt) while maintaining good road manners, and there are optional wire-spoked rims available from the factory to replace the standard cast aluminium wheels.

Brakes are by Brembo, with dual radial-mount front calipers and 320mm discs, and the stock rubber fitment is Pirelli Scorpion Trail II road-focused adventure tyres.

The suspension comes in two variants: the posh S version of the new V2 Multi comes with Marzocchi semi-active 45mm USD front forks and rear monoshock, integrated with Ducati’s Skyhook electronic control setup.

This is the latest variant, which incorporates a new minimum preload function that drops the bike down as low as possible at the push of a button, to help pillions mount and get a full foot on the ground.

Meanwhile, the stock V2 has standard mechanical suspension components: Marzocchi 45mm USD forks and rear shock, with full adjustability at both ends.

Both the V2 and V2 S come with bang-up-to-date electronics, all optimised with a six-axis IMU-assisted ECU. That means high-end ABS with cornering functionality; Ducati Traction Control (DTC); Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC); Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0; Engine Brake Control (EBC).

There are four riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, Wet and four power modes: High, Medium, Low and Off-Road. There’s also full LED headlights with DRL, Ducati Brake Light EVO, Ducati Multimedia System and Cruise Control, all controlled via a smart new 5” full-TFT dashboard with Infomode management and redesigned switchgear, plus a new USB charging socket.

Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore

The final highlight of 2025 from Ducati is this special limited-edition Panigale V4 Tricolore. Just 1000 of these ultra-trick machines will be made, and it’s packed with high-end chassis kit on top of the already-awesome V4 S base package. The highlight is a set of full carbon fibre wheels and a dry clutch, together with a WSBK-spec Brembo race brake setup.

The Tricolore name refers to the special asymmetric paint of course, which drapes the Panigale in the colours of the Italian flag: red white and green.

Under the posh finish is the 216bhp 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V-four engine as used in the standard 2025 Panigale V4, with the new chassis: aluminium monocoque front frame, dual-sided swingarm and the same Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 semi-active electronic suspension control.

The fork is an Öhlins NPX-30 pressurised unit, and the rear shock is a TTX36 unit. The rider aids package is bleeding edge stuff: the latest generation electronic package with six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit, Race eCBS with cornering functionality; traction control, slide control; wheelie control, launch control; Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0; and engine brake control (EBC).

There’s new switchgear for quickly changing settings, and it’s all accessed via a massive new 6.9” full-TFT dashboard with 8:3 aspect ratio. Add in four riding modes (Race A, Race B, Sport, Road, Wet), full-LED lighting with DRL and turn signals integrated into the headlight, Ducati Data Logger and Ducati Multimedia System and you have an outstanding setup.

So far so normal – but the spec is ratcheted up quickly via the posh five-spoke carbon-fibre wheels, which are almost a kilo lighter than the already-trick forged aluminium rims on the stock V4 S.

Bolted to the front wheel is a Brembo Front Brake Pro setup, with gigantic finned 338.5mm diameter T-drive disc rotors which are 6.2mm thick, and specially finished Hypure radial-mount four-piston monobloc calipers with titanium anodising.

A Brembo MCS 19.21 adjustable master cylinder rounds off the incredible stopping package.

The rest of the spec list is as you’d expect: lashings of carbon fibre including mudguards, alternator cover, swingarm cover and heel guards, a racing fuel tank cap, numberplate removal kit, open clutch cover to get the most from the dry clutch upgrade, and a posh bespoke bike cover.

There’s a special Alcantara race seat, double bubble race windscreen and the all-important numbered aluminium plaque on the top yoke, with matching numbered key.

The price for all this sauce? A heady £48,000 – form a queue at www.ducati.com!
