MV Agusta’s been gradually working through its range of sweet Italian luxury bikes, updating them for 2021. And here’s the latest: a revised Rosso variant of the luscious F3 800 supersport triple. The F3 is a gorgeous thing: the simple, straightforward supersports variant of the inline-triple 798cc engine, in a proper track-ready sports chassis. Top-end suspension, brakes and electronic rider aids, dressed up in swooping, full race-replica bodywork, with supersport rubber, powered by a torquey 147bhp engine and weighing in at 173kg dry.

For 2021, there are a number of changes – the Euro5 engine updates as seen elsewhere in the 800 triple range, with DLC coated valve gear, reduced friction on the bottom end, new clutch basket and a revised exhaust system. The chassis gets a tweaked frame, with stiffer swingarm plates, but it’s the electronics which get the biggest update.

The 5.5” colour TFT LCD dash, IMU inertial measurement unit, switchgear, engine management, Continental cornering ABS and quickshifter are all new, and upgraded to MV Agusta’s latest high-end setups. Added to the existing satellite tracker unit, cruise control, Bluetooth, smartphone app and wheelie control, it makes for a very impressive overall suite of electronic assistance.

Surprisingly then, this version is also a ‘Rosso’ variant, which Agusta’s been launching this year. It’s seen as a new ‘entry level’ way into Agusta ownership, and we’ve already seen Rosso versions of the Turismo Veloce, Dragster, and Brutale. That makes us wonder it the firm will also be unveiling fancier RC and other premium versions of the F3 over the next month or so…
