Yamaha XV250 Virago Bike Overview
If you’re looking to purchase your first ever cruiser then the XV250 Virago could be the perfect starting point. Although it’s only a 250cc, you won’t feel like you’re missing out on any of the action.
Taking the true cruiser style with a low seat (685mm!!), high set bars and forward facing pegs, the XV250 Virago handles perfectly and it’s extremely comfortable too. There is enough room to carry a pillion however the seat isn’t very comfy so it’s not ideal for long journeys.
Not only is the machine mechanically sound, with an air-cooled V-Twin engine but also the build quality is well put together too, especially if you love a good mixture of chrome and paintwork – you’ll always need to give it a good polish though!
Although the bike was released back in 1995, it’s still a popular machine but it can be rare to find one in mint condition still.

Owner Reviews
Pros
I love it! Low enough for my short legs to reach the ground, light enough for me to pick up if I drop it and plenty fast enough for me! I am not an experienced rider having just passed my test threes years ago, and I am coming up a bit in years now, but this bike suits me perfectly. I managed a ten day tour of Scotland and Ireland on it with no problems. I would thoroughly recommend it to a short-arsed, elderly, female, inexperienced riders like me and anyone else that wants a decent, easy bike to ride.
Cons
Luggage - not a lot of space to put panniers, but with a bit of a modification it can carry my tent, all my sleeping gear and my clothes - so I'm happy!
