Yamaha XJ6 Bike Overview
The Yamaha XJ-6 is as straightforward a bike as you can get, good for a first bike and commuting.
If you are looking for a middleweight segment which is both friendly on the pocket and not intimidating, it is the bike to buy.
While it is not a showstopper in looks, it does have a certain machismo charm. If you are looking for a no-frills bike that is budget friendly and offers reasonable fuel economy, this could be the bike to invest in.
The bike features a retuned engine belonging to the Fazer which makes the bike user friendly and easy to ride.
While the torque and power is less than that of the Fazer, it is definitely outclasses its rivals in performance with 6 speed gears.
While the throttle is not too smooth in lower speeds it does improve once you pick up speed. With 77bhp of power to explore, it is powerful enough to keep you interested.
Its steel tubular chassis is super strong and lightweight and its seating arrangement with a low seat makes it convenient to ride for many riders.
An agile bike, it is vibration free and easy to handle in crowded city traffic. There are many optional extras you can choose to add on to this bike if you wish to personalise it.

Owner Reviews
Pros
Extremely comfortable, fun naked. Very well balanced out on the open road or in tight one way city streets. Power is more than adequate from the smooth "torquey" R6 derived engine.
Cons
The swingarm is a traditional steel box-section… doesn't look very attractive at all.

Slightly heavy at 210kg but it's extremely smooth and well balanced. Vibrations? What vibrations?

Traditional Japanese quality. Stellar.
Brakes are a bit "wooden"… but WELL more than adequate power if you use four fingers.
Pros
Great starter bike also great to commute on cheap to run and plenty quick enough. Brilliant first bike great to learn on.
