Triumph Thruxton 1200 Bike Overview
The styling on this Triumph Thruxton is beautiful, and attention to detail has definitely not been overlooked. Sure, some may find the parallel twin engine lacking in character, but we don’t find this much of a problem. The handling on this bike is perfect, along with the brakes, suspension and chassis balance.
In terms of comfort, some riders have found the seat a little too hard, so long distances might become a problem. However, overall the comfort levels are acceptable and you’ll soon forget any worries you might have with the 1200cc parallel twin engine, which spins up rapidly because of the lightened crank.
As we mentioned, the finish is excellent on this bike. You’ll find all the little touches rerally pleasing. For instance, they have put in a seat inbuilt stand which stops the rider scratching the paint when it is removed.
Triumph recommends servicing this bike every 10,000 miles, giving you long distances of stress free travel.
In terms of cost, the standard Thruxton is good value for money, but if you want the Thruxton R version, it is even better value for money. You get a lot of specs for your dosh! With both models you will get traction control, as well as three power modes and ABS. If you want a pillion seat, this is an optional extra.

Owner Reviews
Pros
The looks and style make this a real eye turner, performance is excellent in all three modes making it a fun bike to ride for a few hours, whether the sun is shining or its raining. The breaks are excellent and so far the tyres have not let me down under hard breaking or cornering. Clocks are easy to read and provide plenty of information. Fuel economy is excellent, making a weekend blast or a longer trip easy on the pocket and not continually have to stop and top up!
