Suzuki GSX-R750 Bike Overview
There is no denying that the Suzuki GSX-R750 is a beauty of a machine. If you are looking for a sportsbike which is light, handles well, and offers a great mixture of low, mid-range and peak power then you’ll find nothing to complain about here. The impressive acceleration is, in part, thanks to the lighter weight which makes it a real gem in the world of sportsbikes. Suzuki haven’t changed much in terms of the overall look of the bike but the quality of the parts has been given a major upgrade and this really shows in the more recent models.
Surprisingly perhaps for a bike of this calibre, the GSX-R750 is also comfortable to ride with plenty of room, even for taller riders.
The suspension is cushy, making it ideal for either city roads, open country lanes or sharp corners on the track and it acquits itself well on any of these surfaces. There are few bikes on the market which can achieve such speed in such a short burst and the GSX-R750 is almost in a league of its own here.
As you might expect, the GSX-R750 doesn’t come cheap and you might initially flinch at paying over £10,000 for one but with all that this bike offers it’s a price you won’t regret paying. If you keep these bikes well serviced then they will keep on giving you the pleasure of being able to ride a bike which is simply fantastic.
Speed, sound and good looks; this bike has it all by the bucket load.

I stand 6'4 and I find it really comfy, I haven't taken my Queen on the back yet so I can't taste it for pillion comfort
Superbly reliable, never let me down
Stops fast enough to liquidate your intestines crush your testicles on the tank
It's a gixer, go like a whippet with an enema and is more flickable than a bogey in a double maths lesson
Powerful enough to scare you
When the fuel, tyres, brakes wear out it gets new ones. Oddly seems to use more fuel and tyres in summer
Pros
Looks great, super reliable, rides amazingly and generally puts a smile on your face. Build quality seems very good, light enough, very agile. Adding a Tail tidy and a new end can really improves the appearance. Bar end mirrors now added and a smoked fly screen is next. Changed the Halogens for LEDs
Cons
Riders footpegs - anodise them, Halogen headlight in 2021????? Had to buy LED upgrades, which improves the look. Tail tidy really tidied the rear end up and adding an upgrade exhaust can improved the sound and looks. The standard end can does sound great over 5000 RPM its just massive and really heavy.

Very comfy for the type of bike it is, Pillion won't get used but it does give you a nice amount of space in teh compartment underneath the pillion seat, no grab handles but does have rear footpads so could be used.
No issues, everything works as it should. Its a very good bike, i=only squabble would be the rider foot pegs chew up easily and as they are black painted, the colour comes off leaving silver showing. Low RPM system is awesome, Traction Control works well.
Has ABS but seems to take a while to really stop, slows well but braided lines would have made a huge difference.
Rides like its on rails, quite astonished at how well it rides. Flickable and really easy to manoeuvre.
Quick bike, thought it maybe underpowered as I'd changed from a 1215 cc bike, but it just keeps giving. Absolutely loves the right hand and pulls like a train if you let it.
Does really well on fuel 60-65 taking it easy or 55 -56 if riding spiritedly. Scandalous charge for the first service by BLADE SUZUKI SWINDON - £240!!!! Pity teh supplying dealer was so far away as they would have charged less than half.

Had it from new puts a smile on my face every time I wheel it out
Cons

Never had an issue long or short blasts with or without pillion
Had 1 battery replaced in 13 years
Stops on a sixpence.
Smooth useable power confidence inspiring cornering
Plenty of grunt even with a big guy like me aboard
Tax mot insurance fuel about 400-500 pounds a year. Proper cheap motoring
Pros
Smooth at speed.
Cons
Lower foot pegs and bring bars a bit closer.

Plenty of space on seat for 2, can be ridden for a complete tank of fuel.
Mechanically sound, had the bike 7 years and had no problems.
Decent brakes, twin discs up front and single on the rear.
Good performance and smooth at motorway speeds, but it's quite heavy and awkward at low speed as weight is carried quite high.
Powerful enough for its handling abilities. It's no superbike but fast enough.
Insurance is cheap, not the most economical machine,at best is about 37mpg.
Pros
Extremely fun to ride machine, lovely sound and looks great and can be had at a reasonable price point
Cons
Paint finish/ corrosion resistance.

Very responsive cornering, bike feels very light. Extremely easy to ride.
Bulletproof. Extremely powerful. Responsive throttle.
Paint finish/ corrosion resistance.
Not terrible but will need a little TLC to keep in good condition especially if kept outside, metalwork prone to some light corrosion and paintwork isn't too difficult to chip/scratch.
Have had brakes rebuilt recently due to a failed seal that was picked up when the pads were changed. Once that problem was fixed it certainly stops as it should!
Pros
Stonking power and a grin from ear to ear on every ride. Looks awesome in the full gp colours with all the yoshi extras as standard so no need to get rid of the stock can like most bikes. If you like gixxer's of old such as the k6-8 then you will absolutely love this. Small improvements all over make this the best gixxer I've ridden or owned.
Cons
Like most bikes the stock tail tidy looks like a sail on the back so a smaller one as standard would be nice.

Nimble in the corners and pulls like a train
Pulls hard in every gear with a nice smooth power curve.

Always starts, never any issues
Now that Brembo are providing the stopping power the Gixxer is vastly improved over previous generations.
Pros
I am very pleased with sharlette. She is the best bike I have ever owned and will not be letting go of her for a lot of years to come.
Cons
Tyres. Keeping my eyes for the right ones for her. I am using Mitchelin at the moment.

Perfect with handling, cornering and the weight is just right.
Enough power to overtake and has always got more to spare with no hassle.
Tyres. Keeping my eyes for the right ones for her. I am using Mitchelin at the moment.
Never have let me down once. I have left her for about 3 weeks and sharlette (my bike) started first time.
Have saved me a couple of times because of car drivers not looking.
Pros
It's a lovely looking machine and always turns heads, lovely mid corner stability and not too powerful. I love this bike a would definitely buy it again, possibly look to out a Yoshi system on it though.
Cons
exhaust sound could be a little lower as i find this a bit screamy, and the security systems will often cause the battery to go flat.

Pros
The reliability. You know you can go out in all weathers and it will get you there and back without a grumble. Very good fast bike but I think it's better for the younger chap and ideal bike if you want to do track days
Cons
Needs to have had the ability to swap the handle bars without cutting the fairing to improve your riding position for when using on road . So your wrists don't hurt

The bike corners like it's on rails best bike I have ever had for cornering.. it nice and smooth at motorway speeds also but not so smooth at speeds of 30 mph or lower.. I would say it's fairly heavy compared to the latest sports bikes but not to bad..
The bike has so much power , that I would be to scared to have the thing flat out.. the acceleration is really quick..
Mine does about 36 mpg which for what it is , is not to bad.. not as good as my old gpz but that bike never done nearly 170 mph
I have had the bike two years and it is reliable as anything .. the only thing that did go was the starter motor.. but that can happen on any bike and it's just wear and tare
The front brakes are 6 pot calipers and the will stop you on a dime .. the rear brakes are awesome also
Pros
Does everything I need. Great bike.
Cons
None.

Pros
I've ridden everything from a er500, to a tuned hyabusa, a cb90 to a tls1000… The original gsxrsrad750 is, not perfect, but that feeling of oneness between rider and machine has never been equaled.
Cons
Petrols only 12p a litre, right???

If it's too easy, where's the fear? If it's too hard where's the fun? This bike is the ideal. Harsh. Smooth. Vicious. Refined. Tempting… Too tempting… It's not the bike that can't make the bend… It's you…
The original srad. Make it scream. That howl of the air ram. That's a 2016 cbr1000 you just passed…
I can burn out a set of tyres in 800 miles. I could make a tank of fuel last 120 miles – but why would you
Built well? Yes amazingly so. I've stripped this bike down to the bores and you can feel the hand of the original engineers. But having said that… I've had to strip this bike downs to the bores!!!
Six pot callipers on a 1987 bike… That's a lot of weight to stop. A lot of speed to spot. A lot of fear to stop. A lot of fun to have. The breaks have the balls, do you?
Pros
Excellent power and performance at your fingertips on the same frame and size as the 600. Still after many years the k6 / k7 gsxr 750 is still one of the best sports bikes out there!
Cons
Would of definitely had a fuel gauge and a slightly bigger tank on the bike but do understand why it wasn't the case.

Still one of the best sports bikes in terms of quality even after having mine now for over ten years. I get people amazed at how good it still looks ten years after and they struggle to understand that its over ten years old!
Amazing engine never had a problem ever!
Amazing bike for running costs overall on all aspects. The only thing I would say is that Suzuki reduced to size of the tank for racing purposes and that's the only thing I would say can be a little annoying but it's understandable why they did it. Also it has no fuel gauge apart from warning lights which is annoying but you get used to it and just have to gauge in your head, or use the trip meter, or look into the tank to calculate roughly what you may have. Other than that I cannot say anything else back about the Gsxr 750 as its an amazing bike all round!
Build quality could be better in certain things but in general cannot complain compared to other manufacturers.
Back in them days it was good enough but considering it's now over ten years old it's still not bad at all considering even at today's standards but could of been just a tad better.

Pros
The ease of riding the bike with everything logically laid out and the ergonomics perfect for me. I like the relative simplicity the bike exudes
Cons
The mpg for 2009 model is a bit lower than other years and also pillion comfort is bad

Very comfortable when dealing with actual roads
Power that can be used with decent torque for an inline 4 and being light can be as fast as a superbike
Not as efficient as other model years
Some areas needs attention with a bit of ACF50
Lack of abs in its basic form is surprising for a 2009 model
Pros
It’s got to be the overall riding experience. It’s an all round great sports bike that looks awesome.
Cons
The terrible brakes

Awesome to ride. Acceleration is smooth and rapid, very capable im sure of high speeds. It is lightweight and forgiving if you make a mistake in a corner. It is precise and agile although if you accelerate to hard it will bite you so don’t be deceived into thinking it’s forgiving. Terrible bike for passengers they ruin the ride for the rider and is very uncomfortable with such a small seat and such an elevated position.
Everyone who owns and loves the 750 will tell you it’s perfect in terms of speed and acceleration. The bike is like a 600 in terms of its agility with more grunt and top end. It is also not silly on fuel. I’ve used mine on both the road and the track and it has performed on both impeccably.
The gsxr750 isn’t expensive to run it doesn’t destroy tyres and unless you ride it extremely hard it is good on fuel. Tax and insurance is very cheap and is similar to all other bikes in its range.
The bike is well built but does have its problems. The regulator has to be relocated otherwise it can melt and cause all kinds of issues. I don’t particularly like the fairings on a lot of bikes around this age. I find them to be poorly made and a little fragile and also very annoying to remove and re fit. I’m hesitant to say this as I’ll be tempting fate but my bike up to this point had been faultless apart from regular servicing etc. The bike is well built but does have its problems. The brakes on the 750 are awful and most people who have owned one will tell you the same. They aren’t nearly powerful enough and suffer from brake fade. Most people upgrade theirs to different models mostly versions from the Yamaha R1 this includes changing the discs and pads plus the callipers and brake lines. The amount of grip the bike gives mostly would be down to the tyres and how good quality they are etc.

I went for the 750 for lightweight and handling over the 1000 it's very flicable and will keep up with the litre bikes if you know how to ride it
