Royal Enfield Himalayan Bike Overview
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled, SOHC, fuel injection 410cc engine with 24.5bhp. This bike is ideal for long rides on badly conditioned roads, although can be seen to struggle on quick UK roads.
Riding on mud or bumpy surfaces is where the Himalayan excels, with the suspension really coming into its own. This Royal Enfield is fitted with ABS, which annoyingly cannot be switched off when riding off-road.
Although it lacks quite severely in power, the Himalayan’s screen blocks the wind well and with 70mpg, is very economical with a range of approximately 200 miles. This bike weighs in at 185kg and has a 800mm seat height, meaning it is quite easy to manoeuvre.
The Royal Enfield would be a good bike for a short commute work or to be taken off-road, it does not offer the power to be seen as a tourer, although if you’re looking for a slower more relaxed ride this bike could be for you. At £4,199 and with efficient fuel consumption, it is not going to break the bank.

Rode to Bulithwels in mid Wales. 150 plus miles in the pouring rain, easy trip on this bike.
Quality is fine but still a new bike. Time will only tell.
Gives you confidence, stops really well.
Does everything you need for a lovely ride.
For a four hundred it is really fine up to seventy five will do eighty but only for short spurts.
Cheap to run. Easy maintenance. Nearly three hundred miles to a tank of petrol.
