Piaggio Vespa LX125 Bike Overview
Those familiar with scooters will be well aware of the fine bikes produced by the Italians, with Vespa earning top honours consistently through the decades. One of the few scooters that retain the classic Vespa look and lineage is the four-stroke Vespa LX 125 that packs a modern engine beneath its traditional looks.
The Vespa accelerates smoothly with its 125cc four stroke engine that responds to the throttle smoothly and effortlessly. The power delivered is ample for the scooter so that should not be a problem. After all, if you wished for something more powerful you would have opted for a bike with a larger engine. With decent power considering its four-stroke engine, its fuel economy is a major plus point.
When riding the Vespa the thing to remember is that this is not a sports bike to throw around and really zip. The wheels of the Vespa are tiny, so sorry, no wheelies on it! The chassis of the bike is stable and well suited to the bike with good balance especially, while turning corners. The turning radius is very comfortable and road handling good, although the suspension does get a bit choppy over bumps.
The scooter is ergonomically designed with smooth lines and curves that reflect the classic Vespa lineage. While most of the bike is concealed, a few odd parts are exposed to the elements and are susceptible to corrosion. That includes the panels, which if left exposed to the rain frequently suffer damage. However, take good care of the vehicle and it has great long term durability.
