MV-Agusta F3 800 Bike Overview
MV Agusta’s F3 675 was a big hit when it appeared in 2012, but the supersports-level performance wasn’t quite enough for some folk. So the Varese firm came out with an 8.4mm longer-stroke 800cc version, which added a dollop of extra low-down and midrange grunt, plus an extra 23bhp, now up to 148. It gives a great middle-ground option if the 675 is a bit low on power, but the F4 1000’s 200bhp is just too much.
The chassis is typical MV Agusta fare: a steel tube trellis frame with aluminium single-sided swingarm and top-end running gear: Marzocchi forks and Sachs rear shock, plus high-end Brembo brake components.
On the road, the 800 motor makes relaxed progress easy – the extra torque from the long-stroke engine is perfect for twisty back roads. The F3 is at home on track though, where the sweet chassis shines. The limited edition AGO and RC versions offer even more performance – at a price. The base bike isn’t cheap at £15,500, and the RC is nearer £18,000.
