KTM 1190 Adventure Bike Overview

First produced in 2013, the KTM 1190 replaced the 990 and is seen as a worthy replacement with numerous improvements. The electronic suspension guarantees a smooth ride, with 150bhp and 92ftlb of torque ensuring great power and speed – which you would expect from a bike weighing in at 212kg with a 1195cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled DOHC, 8v V-twin engine.

Another improvement form the 990 Adventure is the brakes, which are complete with an anti-lock braking system (ABS).

The handling has been described as brilliant and better than expected. Though, if touring is your main aim there are better alternatives out there, as it has been widely stated that once luggage has been applied to the 1190 Adventure, the handling is put to the test.

This motorcycle is very reliable, even when put to the test off-road. KTM produce bikes for the Dakar rally and so this is to be expected, though the lightweight tubular steel frame and quality chassis will provide exactly what you need when out on the road.
