Honda XL700V Transalp Bike Overview
The Honda XL700V Transalp is the latest Translap model and whether you are a learner or an experienced rider looking for something different, you’ll find much to love about this bike. The V-twin 700cc engine won’t blow your socks off but it has enough power to see you smoothly around towns and cities with the occasional break to the countryside. It can handle 70mph with ease and although you might find it a little lacklustre when it comes to bursts of power you have to appreciate that this isn’t what the bike was created for and if that’s what you want, then you should probably look elsewhere.
The XL700V Transalp is sleek looking, and will certainly draw the eye as you commute and it’s practical and user-friendly design also makes it ideal for those wanting an entry-level bike which won’t take too long to get used to. Although this is a bike which has been designed for smooth, flat roads, the suspension is capable of handling a little off-roading, if you want to test this type of riding out. It probably couldn’t cope with too much off-road but you might be surprised at what it will manage.
This bike is a snip at just over £5,000, especially considering what you get. It falls into a low insurance group and has the fuel economy which is well known amongst Honda riders, not to mention it comes with the reliability of being a Honda; you know your bike is going to be sturdy and well made, easily capable of lasting the test of time.

Reliable Honda build, I use it for business and it never lets me down.
Nothing to say here, it is not my first Honda and they all have been good.
Never fails to stop in the spot even 2 up.
Smooth and handles well. Bit top heavy but used to it now.
XL700 is not about power, comfort and reliability is where it's at. 52000 miles latter it is still going strong.
Economical and reliable, lot of bike for the money.
Pros
A great first bike I get 130 miles out of a tank of fuel. Insurance is alright and it's very reliable.
