Honda CBF1000 Bike Overview
The Honda CBF1000 is underestimated in the biking world. With a detuned Blade engine, fabulous handling and a throttle response to die for – you won’t be disappointed with this bike.
Don’t be fooled into thinking it is for the experienced rider, though. It is also novice friendly and a great all-rounder. A great mid-range bike for someone who wants a bit of everything.
The problem with this bike is that it doesn’t look exciting. It is hardly inspiring and the chassis is a little dull. But boy – does it deliver in terms of performance. The ride on the Honda CBF1000 is second to none, with great suspension and responsive brakes; even sports riders would be impressed with this model. You can get up to 140mph on the CBF1000. It is glitch free and flexible, all wrapped up under Honda’s usual reliable name.
You get a lot of bike for your money with this model. It has a comfortable riding position, is very practical on all roads and weathers, and all for under £6000 if you’re buying it brand new. You’ll get ABS and a luggage kit as an optional extra.

Riding position is fairly good but seat pitches you forward into the tank
Build quality is ok but not among the best ,it has broken down and needed a new stator, a common problem I hear
Strong brakes, abs is not intrusive
Ride is fairly average on standard suspension, handling is predictable
Good spread of torque, flexible delivery

I have done Europe on this bike, very comfortable. It's very smooth to ride, no surprises.
It has broken down and we found out the alternator was not charging the battery, the root cause was a sticking headlight switch.
Brakes are good, I have sbs road sintered.
It's a bit heavy for me so I have to be careful where I park. It is very good on corners.
1000 cc Its powerful enough for me, I know I have power if I need it.
Fuel economy is quite good, its about 46mpg.
Pros
Reliability. Good for long trips, comfy for two, powerful even with luggage.

Handles and corners well. Fitted a Hagon rear shock with remote adjustment for ease of adjusting depending on load and road conditions.
Bullet proof
Good for steady cruising but can be thirsty when making serious progress!
Generally usual Honda quality but this bike was produced to be a budget bike so you need to make some allowances. Electrics disappointing since no addiional lighting etc allowed or stator will burn out.
Excellent
One comment on “Honda CBF1000 Bike”
My first bike after 28 years without a bike Handles really well and is forgiving for inexperienced riders. Had the bike for three years now and can’t fault it. It is very comfortable on long rides and handles well even with luggage on. Fitted Road pilots so braking is goof and smooth. All in all a really underestimated bike power when required but also happy to just cruise.
