Honda CB600F Hornet Bike Overview
The new Honda CB600F Hornet is a new bike running the same engine as their current CBR600RR model. It is easy to ride and is good fun – an ideal first bike if you like. Don’t only categorise it as a first timer’s bike though – because it is so much more. It handles well on roads in most conditions and has some sporting potential, appealing to a wide audience with its improved Italian styling. It really does look the part!
The new Honda CB600F Hornet is very light and agile, producing more torque than the CBR and is also probably a little more user friendly. Ride this in town or on motorways and it will perform and handle really well. You have to rev it to get the most out of it, but when it goes it goes pretty well. You won’t be disappointed when you get on this bike.
The Honda CB600F Hornet feels solid and secure. You shouldn’t be too worried about reliability, because it really should last. At just over £5000, the Honda CB600F Hornet is great value for money. It is competitively priced and should hold its value over time too. You can get a few extras if you want to – like the HISS immobiliser security system or ABS.

Pros
I take my bike to work most nights and never get bored and never think I wish I had this or that bike. I really enjoy taking out and riding it or at home working on it (maintenance) its my second ever bike.glad I got a lower bhp to learn road craft on but as a big (ish) bike its everything I could want..
Cons
everything could be improved upon but as a whole its a very complete package

As it's getting a bit older, it's getting a bit clunky in its old age
It's no S1000RR but it's enough to get you into trouble quick enough...
everything could be improved upon but as a whole its a very complete package
No ABS (old school) but effective enough for the power it makes and how much it weighs
Pros
Great all round bike weather it is small journeys or long ride out never fails to please
Cons
A fuel gauge

Nice smooth ride, I found it lightweight on the road and could feel the corners great
Performance wise compare to my bandit was well noticed
A fuel gauge
Never had any issues with the hornet at all covered many of miles, good solid bike
As far as brakes go these were great, no fading or anything
Pros
First naked bike in 25 years and it's rekindled my passion for riding. Easy to ride, practical and above all comfortable. But has performance if needed
Cons
Factory fly screen.

Smooth, capable handling. Almost no adjustment apart from rear ride height but compliant over most surfaces. Low centre of gravity eases cornering. Linked brakes are superb
Strong, torquey engine. Plenty of low down grunt but can rev out freely.
Factory fly screen.
Good build quality. Paint not as thick as older Hondas but no rust or corrosion.
Combined ABS and linked brakes are top class. Safest system I've ever used.

It is a wonderful ride. Little heavy but not too bad at all
It has quite a bit of torque and pulls away quickly when it needs to
Very economical to ride.
Exceptional build to be honest. Extremely reliable .
It’s great performance but could be so much better with a few tweaks. Very good on the brakes

Light and smooth, corners beautifully and very forgiving
Best 600 around! Easily keeps up with my mates on bikes with twice its engine size!
Very reasonable service costs. Fuel economy is outstanding. Even commuting 70 miles a day I'm getting around 55mpg.
Owned the bike from new and the only "non service" items that have needed replacing were the regulator rectifier at 7 years and the right hand handlebar switch at around 5 years when the headlight cut out relay stopped working
Combined ABS system gives smooth controlled braking even when needing to stop in an emergency
Pros
It's a head turner, the condition for the age is excellent and it's reliable as heck!
Cons
The stock mirrors are a bit pants, a fuel gauge would be nice and a belly pan as standard would also be useful.

Ultra lightweight especially in comparison to the bandit 600 which my partner has. Cornering is Featherlight and you can really throw it about without fear. In fact I would say the more you throw it into corners and ride with speed, the better it rides. Although saying this its not lumpy in slow speeds and keeps up nicely with bigger bikes.
Keeps up with the 900 without issues and I've just got a stage one jet kit on it. Can outstrip bikes if a similar and smaller size off the line too. For a first big bike or second, literally cannot fault it. She's a beaut and I now understand why honda owners love their Honda's.
As mine is modified, it does not get as much as a stock bike. I get approx 100-110 miles out of a full tank and this is always consistent, even if ridden hard. I do not notice any difference between town riding and long journeys.
I've had it a year and a half. A bolt came out of my gear shifter. that is literally it. Besides standard maintenance, it's fabulous. When compared to my previous bike Suzuki gs500 which needed a carb rebuild Evey month and the fuel system was awful and basically rebuilt by me to actually function, it's been a dream.
Front brake is very sharp. I trust the rear brake dearly and it doesn't lock up unless you really slam it. Front brake needs more caution and can throw you off balance if you tap it too hard. But it brakes nicely and efficiently. Grip is definitely altered depending on tyre composition (I have race ready tyres at the moment) but considering my front one needs chsnging, I still trust the braking even in the wet.
Pros
Riding position and performance.
Cons
Engine coating / paint.
