Ducati Monster 821 Bike Overview
If Ducati were trying to create a naked sports bike which was easy to ride, with the perfect balance of weight, power, torque and handling then they got it exactly spot on with the Monster 821. This bike is a down-sized Monster 1200 and it really does tick all the boxes. The engine is a Hypermotard V-twin which sounds beautiful from the moment you fire it up along with delivering exactly what is needed.
You can ride the Monster 821 in the city, for commuting or for hitting the open road with smooth and light handling no matter what road surface you take to. Owners report a little bit of vibration when in a low gear but it isn’t something which distracts and compared with what the motor does put out, it’s something which can easily be overlooked.
Looks are also something worth mentioning here; for a naked bike the Monster 821 certainly draws the eye despite the chassis being a little more basic than the 1200 and there is double-sided swingarm which has been made shorter to help with the steering. The Monster 821 handles itself so well, and so easily, that it’s the perfect option for a newer rider looking to purchase their first ‘big’ bike, it really doesn’t take much experience at all to get the Monster 821 to perform like a dream.
Ducati’s are known for being well made and for retaining their value, with few issues worth mentioning as long as they are regularly serviced. These are reliable bikes which will keep on going as long as you look after it.

Beautifully made and designed. Have had a few problems, but so far Ducati have looked after me.
Brembos all round; twin disc at the front, have never felt under braked.
Pros
An excellent bike with amazing build quality and a character no other naked bikes can match. The exhaust note and downright power. It also is a looker and definitely one of the best looking naked bikes.
Cons
Fueling could be better as well as throttle response. The rear brake is also pretty weak compared to Japanese bikes but the front brakes are a beast.

The ride is great and the bike handles so well. It's a real joy to ride. While the bike isn't exactly light, once it's moving there's no effort at all
The performance is brilliance. It has way more power than I can ever use and the engine feels unburstable.
It's pretty good on fuel as for most riding, you aren't exploring the upper limits of performance. Oil, spark plugs and other consumables aren't any more expensive than other motorcycles I've owned in the past and it's relatively easy to work on
Typical Suzuki build quality, keep on top of the cleaning and protective spray if you use it in the winter
The brakes work really well and I haven't noticed any detrimental effects of rain unlike some bikes I've owned in the past
