Ducati 959 Panigale Bike Overview
Ducati’s 959 Panigale is a middleweight sportsbike and step up for the iconic Panigale 899. The latest features of the Ducati 959 Panigale include an impressive 995cc L-twin moto, 157bhp and a weight of 178kg.
First released in 2016, the 959 Panigale oozes the classic Italian design as well as being an absolute beast on the road. Although it comes with a price tag of £13,000 for a brand new one, it’s clear to see that no corners were cut and no expense was spared when Ducati created their new ‘entry-level superbike’.
The whole engine has had a complete refresh including new rods, crank, pistons and an extra fuel-injector to improve throttle response, and a servo-powered slipper clutch (which is a brand new addition) – it’s pretty impressive if we’re honest. The new engine updates put the 959 inline with the Euro 4 noise and emission rules, but it’s still gives more power than it’s older brother, 899.

Owner Reviews
Pros
It looks amazing just standing still and makes you feel a bit special every time you ride.
Cons
I would prefer more torque lower down the rev range, but it is very rewarding, especially with the excellent quick-shifter in the higher rev range, so I do not mind too much, as it is fun getting her into the zone where she works best.

For a sportbike, it is actually pretty good and I am a tall guy at 6'4".
The detailing and components are top notch. Have not done enough miles or years of ownership to assess reliability, but the later model Ducati's should be solid.
She is using Brembos and the feel and progressive bite is good. Easily two fingers can be used to kill the speed pretty quickly.
The 959 is a smooth ride. Despite being a L-twin, thanks to some excellent fuelling, the bike is equally happy through the town as she is tearing down the road. Very direct steering with a compliant chassis. Works well as a package.
I think it is a good balance of useable power and how it delivers the power for real world riding.
Sorry, I have not had the bike long enough to assess properly.
