BMW R nineT Scrambler Bike Overview
Released in 2016, the R nineT Scrambler is a watered down version of the GS, available for £10,530. The reason for the cheaper price is that the Scrambler lacks some of the latest features and technology of more expensive R nineT models, these include only having an ABS as standard equipment and conventional forks.
These cheaper alternatives do not hinder the Scrambler’s appearance too much. Having been described as a fashion bike, this being backed up by the fashionable 19-inch front wheel and lack of technology giving it a clean, classy look.
This powerful bike has an 1170cc air-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine, producing 116nm torque and 110 bhp.
A criticism of this BMW Scrambler is that the reduced seat cushioning from more expensive models is rather noticeable and can make your ride uncomfortable if on the road for a considerable amount of time. That being said, if you’re a fan of an upright seating position with higher handlebars, this could be the bike for you.
The typical paintwork on this machine is a Stereo metallic matte, which appears a dark grey colour, though it is available in Black storm metallic/Aurum and Black storm metallic/Light white with the BMW Motorrad Spezial offer.

Very planted, lots of torque, medium weight, but low centre of gravity
Older engine, but plenty of grunt. A real mechanical experience and makes you feel alive.
Quite thirsty compared to other bikes and requires an annual service regardless of mileage
Legendary
Work well enough
