KTM RC125 Bike Overview

For a first bike owner, the KTM RC 125 featuring a 4 stroke water cooled engine is a good buy. It does pack a punch considering the speed restriction for A1 licence holders set at 15 bhp. It is snappy enough to whiz through traffic and has a larger alternator to power twin front headlights.  Power distribution is seamless through the six gears, with no bumpy vibrations even while revving at top speed.

With great suspensions and WP upside down forks, the ride is smooth and free of bumps. The bike has a stiffer spring to give it a sport feel with the stroke at 125 mm. The rear shock is adjustable although the standard seems to work just fine. Ground clearance is better around corners thanks to its 66.5° angle and a shorter wheelbase. It gives better agility while being easy to handle.

The braking system is good with a 4 piston bolted calliper at the front and a single calliper at the rear. It comes with Bosch ABS which is great when navigating on loose gravel or wet surfaces. In terms of looks, it holds its own with a slick style offset by its trademark orange rims. LED indicators lie tucked smartly in the mirrors. The pillion seat is surprisingly comfy as well.

With looks that contradict its 124 cc engine, its chunky rear tyre (150 mm) offers good road hugging abilities. Not meant for professionals who guzzle mileage on superbikes, it is perfect for those who are just starting out on two wheels.
