Honda CBR650F Bike Overview
Honda‘s CBR650F is an easy riding sporty bike with a budget price tag. You can ride this bike pretty much everywhere – even take it out for a trip on the continent and you’ll feel safe and taken care of with this bike.
This bike’s bars are about 30mm narrower and set a little lower than the sporty clip ons which this bike comes with. This gives it a sports tourer kind of riding position and overall an excellent ride. You can cruise this bike along at low revs no problem – or open it up and it really comes to life. Of course, it’s not supersport fast, and it does lack some punch but it will serve you well nonetheless.
You’ll get great reliability with this bike. It has a tried and trusted RR engine and the build quality is good for a bike that has been built to a budget.
You can pick this bike up for around £7000 which makes it cheaper than other sports tourer bikes but more expensive than something like the Yamaha’s Tracer 700.
The only annoying thing about this bike is that you don’t get a digital gear indicator, which it really does need. ABS is standard, though and you can pick up a lot of optional extras.

Seat could be nicer. Bit uncomfortable for long journeys
It's a honda. It's engine in bullet proof
It brakes sharp. Almost flew off lol
Smooth gear changes. Amazing clutch. Light
650cc if powerful compared to my old 125cc
It's cost more on insurance as its a bigger bike. Feel usage is great tho
Pros
Reliability,
Cons
Steering wheel and foot pegs vibration.

It’s very comfy, got a sporty look but seating position is more like on tourer bike
No issues whatsoever
Excellent breaking response
A bit heavy, around 216kg, however can’t feel it when riding it. It takes corrners very well. Only one weak point are foot pegs and steering wheel vibrations, however so easy to get used to it.
Around 90bhp, for me quick enough. Compare to my previous bike which was ninja 300 it is a big upgrade. Much faster and smoother.
Around £280/month servicing. Insurance £310. Road tax £96
Pros
Great all round bike to own and would definitely recommend.
Cons
Nothing.

Owned for 3 years. Taken it on a two week tour around Europe. Never missed a beat! Comfortable enough for a sports tourer and was a pleasure to ride.
Not a problem so far, solid build. Only problem is I don't ride it enough.
Never had a problem. Great stopping power.
Bike is definitely heavy at 217kg wet but corners great and the engine is silky smooth. Sounds great.
It's powerful enough for myself. Great all round performance. Copes great whether it be on the Swiss alps or in a small town.
Great on fuel and costs are not to bad. Running Costs are fine.
Pros
The ease of riding, it makes jumping on and going anywhere instantly more enjoyable.
Cons
Where it's located… limited riding weather in Scotland…. although we do have the best roads

Needs get a bit stiff after a few hours riding but otherwise great seating position.
it's Honda….. never had any problems or breakdowns
It come equipped with 2 front discs and a rear disc, abs too. Great stopping power and never locked up
Great mid-size sportsbike for both short commutes in to town and long weekenders round the north of Scotland
Was a great first "big bike" to learn on and now as i'm a little older and more experienced, still continues to entertain and impress
insurance can sometimes come in a bit high but the fuel efficiency is great and the cost of service/MOT's are fairly reasonable
Pros
The handling is superb and with its instant power is very nice bike to ride. Very easy to handle at speed and in traffic. Fast response from throttle with instant power. Average running cost. Good all round bike for first sports bike. Cost £7300 there are cheaper alternatives but it’s a Honda so say no more.
Cons
Softer seat for longer journeys if you do them but that’s being picky.

Awesome bike very easy to manoeuvre in traffic or at speed. “Corners like it’s on rails” as Julia Roberts once said. I’m 5ft 8inch and 11.5 stone and I can throw it around with no issues and it sticks to the road like muck on a blanket.
My first sports bike. Goes like stink in my humble opinion. Lots of power in every gear and picks up very fast. Loads of power instantly when you need it. I commute on M62 and have never had any issues with power for overtaking. Bike cruises well and will get you past lorries etc with ease.
I commute 40 Miles per day and is a mix of motorway and B roads. I do 240 Miles in 6 days and it cost me around £20 in fuel. My Cb500x did the same for £11 but CBR is twice the Horse Power so not surprised by that. First service is costing £120. Only had bike a couple of months but seems to be nothing to worry the bank manager so far.
Only done 500 Miles since new but seems ok so far. Build quality is what you expect from Honda. Don’t have any issues.
Back break not much cop only use it at low speed or in emergency. Front break is very good. Slows down very quickly with ease no real issues. Breaks are overall very good.
Pros
Reliable and easy to ride
Cons
Smoother gear changing

Not so light but very smooth ride.
It has the power, performance is great.
Fuel is good. Only had a 125 before this so not sure how it would compare to other 650's.
Built well, Honda always reliable. No break downs so far.
Braking system is great. Uses abs and stops when it should do.
Pros
Very comfortable to ride. Nice for longer journeys. Smooth power delivery. Smooth, exciting, subtle, comfortable…. the list goes on! Good mid-sized sports bike that isn't too aggressive and will leave you pleased with every ride.
Cons
Only downside I have noticed is the build quality of some of the fairings. There are some large gaps where the body parts meet that I feel could look more flush and complete.

I handles really nicely. There is plenty of power and torque to satisfy a need for speed but is subtle enough for a relaxing cruise.
Engine is great! Like all engines, it requires maintenance but as long as you look after it then it will look after you. Smooth power delivery, enough there to put a smile on your face but not enough to throw you off the seat.
Only downside I have noticed is the build quality of some of the fairings. There are some large gaps where the body parts meet that I feel could look more flush and complete.
Solid engine. Not had any problems so far. Only downside I have noticed is the build quality of some of the fairings. There are some large gaps where the body parts meet that I feel could look more flush and complete.
Brakes are very responsive and hard wearing.
Pros
I purchased the bike new as a mid ranged dual purpose well balanced bike. the 650cc engine complements the riding i look for in a bike.
Cons
As a sports tourer maybe the seating to be closer to a sports bike rather than touring bike

A very well balanced bike
Punchy enough although purchased for comfort

So far so good, over a year old with no recalls!
So far has stopped when required. No issues.
Pros
Forgiving bike that can teach you many things. Great bike, would recommend to any seasoned biker or somebody just moving up to their big bike.
Cons
Further customization of it

Lovely smooth acceleration if you want, but can still pack that sporty feel and acceleration if you need it.
The inline 4, 650cc engine produces the power in the mid to high end but still gives a lovely feel in the low end of the rev range

Honda is well known for being reliable and this bike has a very good build quality.
Nice brakes, cannot complain
Pros
With a few carefully chosen options and extras this is one of the best do-anything bikes for those of us who can only have one bike for whatever reason.
Cons
Exhaust a bit tame – have now fitted full titanium Akrapovic !

A good compromise of ride and handling - at 85kg I found that position 3 on the preload was ideal (position 2 is the factory setting)
Flexible, economical yet has a naughty side when you up the revs
Exhaust a bit tame – have now fitted full titanium Akrapovic !
Well up to Honda usual standards despite being made in Thailand
More than up to the job without being too fierce
Pros
The ability to cruise comfortably but at the same time be quite sporty in the corners when giving it some.
Cons
Gearbox, sometimes has issues when really pushing the bike and going through the gears

Handling is superb. A little hard over the bumps but that is the compromise for the cornering.
I used to have a CBR600F4i. The CBR650F is extremely underpowered in comparison
I wouldn’t say it’s economical. My previous CBR600F4i was just as economical despite the fact that the CBR650F is supposedly designed for commuting and the emphasis on economy rather than performance.
It’s a Honda. I’ve had three Honda’s and never had an issue with any of them
Braking is faultless. The ABS is a real benefit and it stops quickly
