Yamaha FZ6 Fazer Bike Overview
One of the most popular bikes from the Yamaha series was the Fazer 600. However, when the new EU emissions regulations came into force in 2003, the Fazer 600 did not make the cut. As an alternative the company introduced the new and advanced F6 in the markets. With a superb engine, great looks and terrific handling it was one of the most versatile bikes around. Whether it is for long rides in the countryside or travelling around sharp city corners, the bike is a winner.
This bike features a detuned engine and offers a tonne of acceleration at all levels. The only thing is the bike needs a lot of revving to bring the engine to life to its true power. Later in 2007, an upgraded version was introduced that also offered better fuelling.
The handling is spot on because of its great features like sturdy tyres, great suspensions, new chassis and wide handle bars etc. The braking is sharp as well. The only niggles are the play on the throttle, a not so smooth gearbox and a heavy clutch. Despite these minor issues, the bike is seamless to ride on the open road.
The bike is relatively durable, including the chassis. However, care needs to be taken to polish parts at intervals, to ensure they retain that brand new gleam and shine and prevent corrosion from damaging them. The highlight of the bike is its brilliant ergonomics which make it comfortable for people of all sizes and shapes to ride.

Owner Reviews
Pros
Good allrounder
Cons
Engine cooling sitting in traffic fan cuts in and out but wondering if one day it may not keep on top of cooling

Quick but not to quick
Throttle pos sensor replaced way out of warranty
Can stop on one wheel if you really want to
Never pushed over my limits or the limits of the bike
More than enough power
210 mile out of a full tank heavy wrist though so probably could get more
Pros
It’s a little heavy and high for me but I am a girl and only 5’6,
Cons
Brakes.

Very comfortable and quite quick.
Solid build, lots of bike for the money.
Not the best brakes in the world, however keep alert and you shouldn’t need them to be too often.
It isn’t the lightest bike I have ridden but it does handle well at speed or going slow.
As quick as you need a bike to go and top range keeps you on your toes delivering power without instability.
Middle of the range.
Pros
Built well, super reliable. Parts are cheap
Cons
Headlights are about crap

For a 22 year old bike, it's reliable and is a really enjoyable ride.
It's a 22 year old beast. Only issues I've had is down to previous owners lack of maintenance i.e. spark plugs no been replaced in the last 8 years took my mechanic 4 hours to get them out because they were seized.
Brakes are spot on. But I buy decent branded brakes. Don't cheap out on brakes !!
Corners well and very good handling
It's quick, acceleration is decent as well got me out of a few tights spots
There is always something that need replacing just because of age. But I can do a 200 mile round trip on a tank of fuel which is about £20
Pros
Light and fun, fun, fun.
Cons
Spark plugs easier to get to.

Pillion will get a hot butt as the exhaust runs under seat.
3 years in and ride all year, it is my only way to get to work and has not let me down.
Are good they have always stopped me when needed, tyres are part of that.
It is good around lanes and is not to big for city traffic.
It does all I need it to do, has enough power to over take safely (Lorries, buses).
Tax and insurance are good, fuel could be better if I ride more economically.
Pros
The bike
Cons
Bit louder

No rattles or squeaks
For me it's fast, had a MK1 600 bandit before, and this is a lot quicker
Bit louder
Brakes are good (non ABS)
Pros
Cheap and very reliable brake
Cons
Worse thing is doesn't drive well if you load too much top box. Back light is ugly. Could be more sporty.

Light, takes corners easy
Very powerful. On full throttle and first gear goes easy wheelie.

Built ok, never broken down
Brakes are ok but could be better
Pros
Ideal first big bike
Cons
More power at lower revs

Easy to ride and very forgiving…still lots of power if you want to have fun! Some vibrations around 7k rpm
For a 600cc street bike, it has plenty of power
Relatively inexpensive to run
No problems after almost 40k miles
Not the best
Pros
Great fun above 10000 revs!
Cons
Could do with a bit more low down grunt.

The bike is now well used but ride is good. I find it rides better with fuel load!
Does what it says on the tin. 90-odd horsepower, revs to 14,000 with detuned R6 engine. So if you want to make it go, you need to wind it up to beyond 7000 and make it scream! Good fun, but you need to prepare by dropping it a couple of notches first!
Owned for 2 years, depreciated £1000, done 8000 miles, very little expenditure. Does 45 ish to the gallon depending on how much you thrash it!
Never broken down in 8000 miles. No major quality issues.
No problems.
Pros
Light, fun, fun and fun
Cons
Spark plugs are not easy to get to

Great bike at low and high speeds. Very nippy and responsive
Its fun to ride, fast, responsive and economical.
Never broken down
Great brakes, I have got ABS as well so can stop remarkably quickly.
Pros
I like the smooth riding and a great first learner bike! Great all round bike, super fun to learn on and ride. Not too quick for a beginner rider and comfortable enough to ride long journeys! Decent piece and good fuel economy.
Cons
The gears could be made smoother when changing and the power could be felt more at lower revs for that extra boost in tricky situations!

Generally smooth but gears can be clunky
Sluggish in the lower revs when you get passed 7k it comes alive!

All rounder good bike, stable and strong with everything you need!
Standard brakes, I had mine upgraded to braided lines which made a tremendous difference! The stock ones are average!
