Honda CG125 Bike Overview
The Honda CG125 might be considered as a little downmarket, but it is a reliable bike that won’t let you down.
Suspension on this bike is bouncy to say the least, but the engine does plod on, day in, day out, pretty well. You won’t need to do much maintenance to this bike, either. It’s a simple machine and if you get a model later than 2004 you’ll see a greatly improved gearbox and a bit more power behind it, too.
This bike is known to many in the biker world as being a rugged reliable number. It won’t be anything to show off in, but that’s OK, because sometimes we want something plain and simple to get us from A to B. You’ll find a five speed gearbox, decent mirrors, disc front brakes and a decent saddle. It is comfortable enough to ride on wherever you are travelling.
You might find this bike a little expensive, especially if you buy it brand new. This surprises us considering how long Honda have been making this model. But, nonetheless, you can get cheaper second hand models out there for much less.

It’s been a very nice bike to ride especially for a beginner and will chug through anything. Very mechanically sound and very mechanically simple as well
I’ve had slight issues with the carb but all that requires is a clean out and that’s it
Disk brake on the front and drum brake on the back both are brilliant the disk squeakes slightly in the wet but the back one lock up really hard only when you want to but both are very strong
Takes corners wonderfully with no issues
Good acceleration all in all good top speed of 60 which is perfect for a daily computer and it gets to 60 quick
It costs about 10 pound in fuel per two weeks which is amazing. That’s enough to fill the tank up

For what it is it rides and handles really well. It isn't a high spec bike and it doesn't have a lot of power but it's brilliant bike to learn on. It's up right riding position makes you feel in control. I will say that the foot pegs could do with being sprung or in a slightly different place because it is possible to scrape them.
Given the fact that it is a 125 and makes at the most 14 bhp it is a good engine and a reliable engine. It will pull all the way up to 60 - 65 mph and sit there all day. But it won't surprise you as far as performance is concerned. It's quick to 30 - 40 mph then struggles from there.
I would say the foot pegs and maybe the brakes.
Build quality is high with this bike and it is bulletproof. I have had small issues due to wear and tear as the bike has had a hard life and I don't take it easy on it. Some parts do seem plasticky.
Not brilliant but not bad. The brakes will stop you but they leave a lot to be desired.
