Hyosung GT650 Comet Bike Overview
The Hyosung GT650 Comet is worth considering if you’re after a low running cost commuter bike with decent handling. An ideal first time bike, this model is not going to knock your socks off anytime soon.
This bike will set you back about £4000, so it’s not the cheapest bike on the market, but it does have a good track record for reliability. Unfortunately, this bike is likely to depreciate in value pretty quickly. You won’t be able to go too hard on this bike either, like some of its competitors – namely the Suzuki SV650.
This bike weighs around 180kg, making it 12kg lighter than the original SV. It also has a fairly low seat and slightly raised bars. This gives it a relaxed and manoeuvrable feel.
One area that could do with some improvement according to a lot of riders of this model is the gear box. The six-speed box seems a bit notchy, and the gear lever was too short for anyone with a slightly larger boot size, resulting in a heavy feel and a few missed changes.
This bike has multi-adjustable front forks and feels good to ride, but some have commented that the brakes aren’t as sharp as they’d like. You can get around 79bhp from the V-twin motor. You’ll find basic clocks, handles and mirrors on this bike as you would expect them on an entry level model. One added bonus is the under seat storage on the Hyosung GT650 Comet, which is quite rare for a bike these days.

Pros
Great looking bike, once get going is also fast for a 125. good fuel economy and very reliable. sounds good for a 125 learner legal, also reliable bike, all in all a great bike to own .
Cons
Cons are because its the same frame as the bigger 250 and 650 versions its a fairly heavy bike for a 125, and therefore there are some quicker 125,s at the lights than the gt 125r but once it gets going is a fast bike

Handling is pretty good though due to being a heavy bike can be out accelerated by other 125cc

Very good build quality, I've read that this brand is affiliated with Suzuki
Brakes are good though not as good as some 125s, hence the Yamaha FZR125 use brembo
Pros
Sounds good, goes good and good value for money. Its korean built, not chinese like most think. good technology, good build quality, less then average paint finish if you dont look after it. Great value for money, and plenty of smiles per mile.
Cons
Paint finish.
