Squires Cafe
When it first opened shop in 1954, Sherburn Cafe or Squires Milk Bar was located at Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire. Since its inception it has grown in popularity with bikers from across Yorkshire and all over the UK. Wednesday Nights is a standard biker’s night, with biker enthusiasts descending to the spot in hordes!
In 2002, there was a need felt to move to a new location to accommodate the large number of patrons that visited the place. It shifted to an area close to the B1222, a favourite with bikers, to a large public house with ample area for numerous public events and camping. In 2007, the cafe was purchased by the Bowness Family, who ensured the place retained its original charm and ambience. With a variety of events such as car and bike club meets, charity runs, best bike competitions, fund raisers and live concerts among others, it is a terrific place to visit when in the area.
For those who are nostalgic about bikes and motorcycling heritage, Squires Cafe is the place to drop in at. They offer an extensive menu that is well suited for meat lovers as well as vegans, with their signature milky coffee and pasties especially popular in the area! They offer a cool biker merchandise shop where you can purchase memorabilia, bike accessories, motorcycle clothing and gear amongst a host of other related items.
With a swanky new synthetic ice skating rink and a large open area to camp, it makes for a great base to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. There are ample camping pitches with hook ups and water taps arranged for campers, just perfect to spend the weekend!
Not only that, you’ll often see a famous face or two as it’s an extremely popular hangout for racers who are travelling up and down the country for race days. Devitt have been sponsoring Squires Café since 2014 providing them with mugs, t-shirts, flyers and much more.

Event: Squires Toy Run
The annual Squires Toy Run takes place on the first Sunday of December with thousands of bikers from surrounding areas working together to raise money and deliver gifts to the local children’s hospital.

Event: Squires Egg Run
Squires Easter Egg run takes place around the Easter break seeing bikers gather together to drop Easter Eggs for the local children’s hospital and hospice. Afterwards the bikers head back to Squires for great food and a catch up about the day’s events. All proceeding from the event go to the local hospital.
