Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Overview
If you’re in the market for your first big bike and you’ve got your heart set on a Harley-Davidson then the Iron Sportster 883 might be the machine for you.
Harley have created the perfect entry-level cruiser machine, this no-nonsense machine isn’t like the classic big boy Harley’s we’re used to seeing but it certainly encourages a younger audience into the world of these beastie machine.
This big bit of metal certainly has the looks, but it’s still a heavy machine (just like all Harley’s). It’s a breeze to ride with the low positioning so you’ll instantly feel comfortable on it. There’s decent suspension and the brakes are good too, a step from the original Sportster line up.
It’s clear Harley-Davidson have spent time on making sure the Iron 883, kitting it out with an authentic Harley engine giving it a real grumble when you’re riding.
Similar bikes include Yamaha MT-07 and Honda CMX500 Rebel.

Pros
Very fun. Breathtaking ride and draws quite a bit of attention especially if you add on vance and hines exhausts.
Cons
Nothing can be improved in my opinion. but the cost is definitely a bit of an issue when you want to customize it. For example I want to add forward controls (instead of mid controls) but the harley-davidson parts are about 700-800 pounds. Quality is impeccable but your wallet will take a hit when you start spending money on it

Its more of a city bike. Can do long journeys (I did Inverness-London in a day), but definitely solo.
Apart from minor expected repairs, it is a well built bike. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money. You get what you pay.
Great brakes. ABS front and back. No complaints.
Very fun to drive. Super smooth and corners surprisingly good!
A lot of torque for its size. You don't expect a 883cc bike to have such acceleration. Cant expect less from a harley though
Depends on the riding style. If you want to have some fun with it, be prepared to top up the tank every 100-120 miles. If you re conservative it might go up to 140-150miles
