Moto-Guzzi V7 Stone Bike Overview
The Moto-Guzzi V7 Stone combines great looks with versatility and functionality, which make it a winner. Its air-cooled 4V V-Twin engine gives a displacement of 744 cc and comes in three versions: The Racer, The Stone and The Special. All share the same the same platform, engine and equipment and come with ABS as standard part of the bike. It is one of the best A2 licence bikes to own. Just the right bike to tour the country or even the continent!
The company has moved the engine forward, which improves mass and offers more leg room apart from having lowered the seating and foot pegs. The overall torque and power remains under 50bhp, with the company having made a few changes within the bike. These include adding a sixth gear unlike previous models. Consequently, the revs smoothen out while switching gears. The fuelling needs a tad bit of improvement – although the addition of an extra gear makes it appear snappier.
The handling is good, with a reasonable ground clearance. The twin-rear shocks are adjustable and sportier with a firmer ride. Seating is nice and upright with a low centre of gravity and lower wide bars, which make it a doodle to navigate in busy city traffic. For braking there is a Brembo 4 calliper at the rear and a single disc (320 mm) at the front, which is adequate for the bike.
If you are looking for something affordable, with sound performance and aesthetically pleasing, the Moto-Guzzi V7 makes the cut.
