Honda CB250 Bike Overview
Honda’s CB250 is a trusty number which has a history going back to the 1970s. This bike is without pretense, but still gives us good performance, so if you’re after a reliable bike, the Honda CB250 could well be for you.
Yes, it’s basic – but this makes it honest. The Honda CB250 has adequate suspension and an average disc/drum braking system. It’s not the best of the best but you don’t expect it to be. The gear lever’s slightly small if you have big boots, and the clutch doesn’t quite have the precision you might like. It’s so easy to ride though. It is a light bike which turns and handles easily on the road. The seat feels quite high when riding, so if you’re thinking of getting a pillion you might struggle.
The engine on this bike has modest power and torque, but it is great for riding around town or for short commutes to work. If you push the speed though, you might find the bike struggles!
This is a well-built motorcycle, with over 30 years’ history. If anything does go wrong, it is easily fixed. Honda are a reliable name and you can trust in its history and brand. This bike is also excellent value. This is a perfect first bike if you haven’t lost your L plates yet, but you can also keep it as you become an experienced rider and enjoy it.

fairly smooth I do not like corners where it is an adverse camber, not too fond of manhole covers either
250 cc and these days that is fast enough for me, it can probably go a lot faster but I am quite content to get from a to b in one piece
now that it is in good condition it is quite cheap to run, still gets through MOT but I don't think I need it now, but still like to have the chap give it the once over
when I got it, it ran OK but looked a sore sight, now looks fairly good, old Honda's are as well built as old British bikes in my opinion
if ever I need them they have stopped me, very rarely used in emergency
