Moto-Guzzi California Bike Overview
If you are looking for a bike with an illustrious heritage, the Moto Guzzi California 1100 EV is the answer. It is part of the lineage of fine Italian bikes produced by Moto Guzzi since 1972.
A true blue cruiser, it has a robust V Twin Engine and could be best described as a great all round performance bike.
It comes with a 1064 cc engine with Magneti Marelli fuel injection that pumps out 70 bhp. It is lighter than its competitors in its segment and surprisingly nippy. With plenty of torque and great handling, it is a dream to ride.
If you are wondering how a vintage could outperform the latest Japanese bikes in its class, think again! It holds its own against newer bikes of its own class and is less wobbly than most cruisers. Despite its simple twin shock suspensions attached to a steel chassis, it runs smoothly.
The bike is comfy with a laid back riding position. The shaft drive of the bike connects both to the front and rear brakes, which gives it good stopping power even at high speeds. On the flip side the heel/ toe gear mechanism is going to take time to master, for those who are not familiar with this pattern of gear change.
While the bike is not dirt cheap, its competitors in the used market tend to cost more. While some of its competitors may be more affordable, none can match the performance or character of the bike.
